20070405 Thursday Our Shipment Leaves and Our Visas Arrive!

Our shipment left for P.N.G. today and our visas arrived today! Praise God and to Him be all the glory!

The purchased prescription medicines from Blessings International (Tulsa, OK) and the medical supplies and medicines donated through Northwest Church (Federal Way, WA) and from several outside sources, including Cardinal Health (Auburn, WA), Providence International (Lacey, WA), Northwest Medical Teams (Tigard, OR), and Cost Plus Pharmacy (Tacoma, WA) were included in our shipment.

We rented a 17 foot U-Haul and filled it with our personal belongings and supplies and drove down to MacMillan-Piper, Inc. Container Freight Station in downtown Seattle where we palletized everything. We used a total of six pallets weighing 2320 kg. (5115 lbs.).

Shortly after we began palletizing our shipment, we received a phone call notifying us that our three year recurring-entry visas to P.N.G. had arrived. When we arrived home, we looked in our passports and confirmed that our visas had finally arrived!

Thank you all for your prayers and support regarding our shipment and visas.

We will keep you posted.

Blessings,

20070322 Thursday The Obregon Family 3/07 Update

Dear Family and Friends,

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all," (Philippians 1:2-4).

Thank you all, for your prayers and support for the New Guinea Islands. It is difficult to express the emotions of the last several weeks. We are humbled by God's care for us through you. We are trying to keep in step with the Holy Spirit as we tie up loose ends and details here in the U.S. before we go to P.N.G.

Here is our update:

  • We are still waiting for our visas. Please pray that our work permit and letter of approval will be released to the P.N.G. Embassy in Washington D.C. soon. Now, the bottleneck appears to be in the P.N.G. Department of Immigration. We will book a flight as soon as we receive our visas.

  • Many people from Northwest Church generously donated boxes of medicines and medical supplies. Then, volunteers gave an afternoon to sort and pack them for shipping.

  • Recently, some friends gave an afternoon and helped us sort and pre-pack about half of the original two truckloads of donations from several sources, including Providence International, Blessings International, Northwest Medical Teams, Cardinal Health, and Cost-Plus Pharmacy Tacoma.

  • Our home sold and we moved out on March 9th. We were overwhelmed when over ten families, even some that didn't know us, offered us a place to live. We now have a list of these families on our fridge. As we look at the list, we ask, how can this be that so many care for us? We can only answer that it is God.

  • An anonymous donor donated $1300 specifically for medicines.

  • We had a serious incident occur that was completely out of control. After worshipping with a close friend, we found that God had completely resolved the situation. Worship is a key to our deliverance.

  • We have had constant daily problems come up and everyday God consistently takes care of them one by one. Thank you for your prayers.

  • Finally, the King's Seminary continues to enroll Victor in a required Ministry Practicum even though we are not in P.N.G. yet.

  • Please continue to pray that our visas will be secured soon. Kindly let us know how we can pray for you also.

Blessings,

Victor, Lori, Nathan, and Alexander Obregon
