20070428 Saturday We Arrive in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea!

Dear Family and Friends,

At 9:30 a.m. we finally arrive in Papua New Guinea at the Tokua New Rabaul Airport (see pictures)! We are all well. It was so nice to see the Bickley’s again. On the way to Papua New Guinea (P.N.G.), we had two unexpected “overnight” layovers in both the Singapore and Port Moresby airports due to aircraft mechanical problems. Otherwise, our trip went very well. Customs in both Singapore and Port Moresby allowed us to pass through without any baggage inspection! Praise God for His help and thank you so much for your prayers.

From the airport, the Bickley’s drove us to our home in Rallubong village. We are staying on the top flat of Pastor Komet and Regena’s home. Their three children are Shelley, Graham, and Irene. Our flat has two electrical outlets and Alexander is so…….. happy to have his own room! There is running water and we even have a flush toilet! On our arrival to the house, we found some start-up groceries and tuna sandwiches in the kitchen area all courtesy of Pastor Comet and family and the Bickley’s. We thank God in all remembrance of them.

This week’s schedule is an adjustment week. We will be welcoming Paul and Shari Kiffe soon and will be helping with a marriage and family seminar later in the week. Next week, we will be participating in a three-day evangelism crusade at a beach village. Alexander will be speaking and performing puppetry in an evangelism skit for the children’s crusade. Lori and I will be giving our testimonies and helping in any way we can. The leadership Training Institute is currently covering marriage and family counseling for the next few weeks. In addition to helping with the curriculum that is already in place, Lori and I will share our own experiences with marriage and counseling as the Holy Spirit directs. Victor may even share some of the King’s Seminary curriculum on marriage and family counseling with the pastors. Thank you all again for your prayers and support.

Blessings,

Victor, Lori, and Alexander Obregon
